Mostly work stuff

Tomorrow is day one of my two day recurrent training. I've officially been at my job for 2 years! I spent almost all of today studying and doing all the little quizzes they make us take prior to going. We got newer, bigger planes last year (CRJ 900's) and even though I personally won't be working on them, they are making all of us train for them. Of course, it's not really hands on training, it's a bunch of .pdf slides, but really not much is different. We still have to get tested on everything though so I've been driving myself crazy going over it again and again. My trip right after training is when I will be getting my check ride. I'm not really nervous for class, but doing my check ride gets me a little crazy out for some reason. Even though I do the same thing over and over again everyday, it's weird to be so closely scrutinized. I'm glad it's all happening at once this year. Last year I did all of the class work, and then had my check ride about 2 months later. Once it's done I can stop stressing about it for another year!

As far as my 2 years goes, I was supposed to get a raise at the beginning of this month. Payroll for some reason started paying me at the one year longevity rate, so I called and told my manager that it needed to be fixed. She called me yesterday and said "I got it fixed, you are now getting paid at the one year rate! It's your second raise in a year!" because she also thought I was supposed to be getting paid at the one year rate. Maybe they don't know who I am? Anyway I called her back and left her a voice mail. Now they are going to have to back pay me for a month, which is going to be an even bigger hassle to get from them.

I think I forgot to mention in my last post that Ronnie's dad got me an Alice teapot last time we were out to visit! I'm starting to get a bit of a teapot collection! I've been looking around for some kind of display for them, but I haven't found anything particularly enticing. Perhaps I'll have to go and visit Justin to see if his place of employment has anything. I really want to have a Alice themed tea party now! Perhaps for my birthday I'll try to come up with something fun.... Oh, while I'm on the subject, Ronnie's mom got me an Alice ornament. It's lovely! She'll go great with the Cinderella one Joyce got me last year! Now if we can manage to get a tree next year that can support both of them...

I may as well start collecting little princess statues at this point hehe. Even though I'm partially teasing, there is an Alice one that I really want in Disney World

I filled out all of my paperwork for my car loan today. I need to call Volkswagen in the next week or so to have them send me all the paperwork I need to take with me to the bank. My car inspection for turning it in is supposed to be Tuesday but at this point I'm obviously sure I will be keeping it so I guess I will just cancel it. One less thing to worry about.

I think I posted in my last post that I was supposed to have jury duty. Well the court that summoned me was weird and had an on call policy for two weeks. I called the first week and then pretty much so forgot about it. I got a letter in the mail yesterday that said that I was summoned but didn't appear so they are going to send me another summons. I'm so over jury duty it's not even funny. If they don't summons me right away, I'm writing them and telling them that their on call policy is impossible for me thanks to my job.

Ronnie and I went to see Horton Hears a Who! yesterday thanks to my huge crush on Steve Carell. I wanted to punt every little kid in there, but it was totally worth it. I liked it even more than I thought I would, and I want a Katie of my very own.

I got new glasses on Friday. I should say, I got the same glasses I had the last time I had glasses and lost them. My insurance surprisingly covered an AMAZING amount of the glasses/lenses so I'm going to be a very good girl and not lose them this time.

On Friday Sarah, James, Ronnie and I had margaritas at Chili's and then to the casino. Here are a few pictures:

Sarah posted a few on my myspace, so if you're interested there are a few more there.

I guess I should attempt to study some more....
