Just for the record...if youre friends tell you...next time you get pulled over just give the cop a sob story and whip up some tears and you 'll get out of a ticket....don't believe them.
I was having this realy great thanksgiving break. and its funny...because as i was cruising down the road, apparently too fast, i was thinking- wow what a great couple days this has been. shortly after i see the flashing lights behind me and my weekend is all took a turn.
48 in a 35 five minutes from my house.
My gas tank was on E and i was rushing to the nearest Sheetz. all of which i told the guy.
no luck.
133 dollars later the officer followed me to the gas station and was on his way.
what a guy.
Reguardless of the ticket my week was still good. I, like the idiot I've grown to be, volunteered to work on my day off so i spent most of my vacation waking up at 5 am to work with kids and babies- cant complain- and then celebrating thanksgiving the old fashion hovenstine way.
if one things for certain hovenstines love traditions.
Thanksgiving morning we watch the parade while mom cooks and my dad makes fun of all the broadway actors.
Later the whole crew arrives where now the kids table outnumbers the adults.
This year we had our newest addition, mckenzie, to provide the entertainment.
We used to play board games to inspire family fun and entertainment...now we just sit Kenzie in the center of theliving room and gather round. Friday morning we wake up at the butt crack of dawn hoping to see a fight between a few of the local crazies out looking for a deal.
Usually we go out around 5am...and wander aimlessly around gawking at all the idiots standing in lines winding through the store isles. A favorite phrase being...there is NOTHING i want that much...Later Friday night we bundle up and head out to the Hollidaysburg tree lighting.
And Saturday morning is Christmas tree shopping.
there is a certain comfort in the fact that I know, more or less, how every holiday will play out. Its becoming more exciting as we grow up, because now we have new additions to the maddness, brother n laws and babies with more babies on the way.
Two more weeks of class. Which is good because Im ready to wind it up already. One step closer to the ultimate goal of graduating and getting away from Penn State Altoona. Hopes are high as usual and Im ready for a change again.
