For the first time since I began working at IFC nearly a month ago, I finally feel satisfied with the work I'm doing. Most of it is still silly little blurbs and summaries or whatever, but I'm beginning to feel comfortable within my own writing style to contribute more than just simple summations. I want my wit and humor to stand out in my writing. I'm thinkin of developing a couple of article ideas that I can submit to the site and maybe begin doing some freelance writing. I don't know, we'll see.
I need to leave in a couple of minutes to get to class, so I quickly want to state what's going on with my life.
- Unfortunately on Friday night, I spent $26 to watch the Mets blow the ninth inning and drop their first game to the Cardinals. Oh, and somewhere around me the Bouncing Souls were playing. I don't mean to insult them so, but the Mets in the NLCS is such a rare occurrence that nothing is going to tear me away from the game.
- Mustard Plug on Saturday night was one of the most fun shows I've been to in a long time. It makes me miss ska shows a lot and I can't wait for the Three Floors shows at the end of the month.
- Cowboy Bebop is awesome. I'm going to write about it when I'm done with it.
- This past week, for some reason or another, felt really lonely. I don't know why, but I felt extremely lethargic and not as excited as I usually am during social interaction. I tried to phrase that better, but I couldn't think of anything. I'm hoping it'll get better as the week goes on, whether I'll be in Albany, Ithaca, or Brooklyn. There are a lot of opportunities this coming week, I just want to make sure I take them.
Fuck I'm late for class.
