Here are random thoughts of May 24th, 2006.
- "Trainspotting" is incredibly difficult to read. Scottish people have the craziest accents.
- "Thief" was a decent show, but c'mon, the ending seemed really cheap.
- New Less Than Jake album is hard to handle. It's not a ska album, and one of the mistakes people make is that they continuously compare it to Losing Streak and Hello Rockview. They're not the same band they were 8 years ago, so get over it and just see this as more Anthem than Anthem. So it's a pop punk album, big deal. This is not something new; we all saw it coming. Unfortunately, I'm finding it difficult to hate. It's not a good album as a whole, however, and really hard to listen to in one sitting, but I honestly like some of the songs. "Overrated" is just extremely catchy and "Let Her Go" is a nice return to roots for the band, but my favorite is "We, the Uninspired" (which, yes I know, is off the EP, but shut up, it's still new LTJ). I don't know why, it's just fast, catchy, and danceable. So, yeah, fun stuff.
- New Bouncing Souls, on the other hand, is AMAZING. "So Jersey" may become one of my favorite Souls songs of all time. I can't wait for them and the Slackers on June 5th; it's going to be one of the most amazing shows of the summer.
- I like my job. I sometimes wished I did more, but it's decent for now. I still need to call my teacher and tell her that I'm not returning, but I'll do that eventually.
- Emo song of the moment: Brand New - "The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot". This song is really important for this week.
- I've discovered a new love for crosswords. Today I finished my first one EVER! It was exciting and slightly orgasmic.
- I want to see Art School Confidential tomorrow.
- I'm going out Thursday and I don't care where.
- Oh yes, and although it was funny, the Office Christmas Special felt like a cop-out.
- I don't like waiting.
