Also, for the record, Harry was well within his rights to refuse to help Draco, the guy who poisoned his best friend, brought deaths eaters to the school, and tried to ambush him to take him to a psychopath hell bent on killing him without any prompting, family duty or not Andromeda was way out of line asking him that (or haughtily suggesting as it is)
...yes, I'm but a measly Muggle blind to the intricacies of wizarding heritage, but Harry's way too accomodating, so someone gotta be indignant for his sake, like, really, poor guy deserves some holidays, not to deal with the like of Malfoy and Snape and bloody Filch, I really don't know how he does it
Anyways, this is getting a bit too long, there's a lot of stuff to comment but I think you got gist of it, so instead I'll just ask for a short update if possible to let us know if you still intend to finish the story, I really hope you're well and the delay is due to a benign reason and that everything is okay on your side, and also thank you for writing this at least, it was a very entertaining read and I'm happy I found it :)
Edit: err, sorry for the spelling mistakes, I'm on mobile, it's super late really early, and I can't edit the first comment since I replied to it, so, I'll just leave it at that and pray for the best

Yeah, the Malfoys are stuck in generations of belief. Draco has a chance. It is frickin’ difficult as the author to shift them, but by bit from canon... they are STUBBORN in their beliefs. They will experience their own heartaches, beyond what they have already. Hopefully, they will grow from it.
Likewise, with all Harry has been through, with him floundering after his reason for existence for the last 7 years now GONE (hurrah), but with him still alive, he grasps out for meaning. He may be a bit too willing to bend to others’ needs. It’s all he has known for years. He will learn to find his own way instead of just accepting the ways of others (If I can get him there.) He is stubborn in his own right (really?!?) but he has never really had the chance to figure out who he is and what he wants outside of what others want for him. in his yearning for family, he will do as Andromeda needs him to. He is discovering the yearning for understanding that he never gave himself permission for (there were always more pressing priorities.)
The story is not abandoned. It is always in my mind, but I find myself daunted by what I’m trying to do. Stupid author’s self-doubt. That plus life have gotten in my way more than I want. Nevertheless, the next chapter is mostly written, as are snippets through to the end of summer and even one or two beyond.
I will finish this.
Thank you so much for your comment! I think you’ve inspired me to add writing in this to my weekend plans.
