[The video starts with a distressed looking Old Snake. Well, as distressed as that old frowny face can look... The PokeGear was facing Chicken, who didn't look so hot. She was on her side, looking quite exhausted, and weak. Snake, on the other hand, was digging through his inventory backpack, searching for one of those Potions he found while ( Read more... )

..... She gonna be okay?

[None of Heather's Pokemon had gotten pulverized while on the road yet, and the possibility scares her a little bit now that she's seen one who has.]

... Yeah. [Pets her more, stroking the feathers below her neck.]

Good... that's good.

... Good thing you had that potion, huh?

I'm used to O.S.P., it's one of the first things I do when I start a mission.

... O.S.P.?

On site procurement. It means I find all my items during the mission, not beforehand.

... That's a little risky, don't you think?

[It wasn't as though she wasn't fairly experienced with that, herself (she hadn't exactly had a chance to stock up when her world had fallen apart a year ago, so she'd learned quickly to be an opportunist when it came to random potentially-useful shit lying around), but she still wouldn't do it by choice...]

If you were in my line of work, you'd stop thinking about "risky" a long time ago.

Fair enough.

I don't really like O.S.P, but it looks like it's really useful here. Too bad I won't find any weapons I can pick up. I'd really like my M9. [pout pout grumble.]

I guess it is really useful when you have to live off the land... I mean, I'm used to being resourceful, I just prefer it when I can plan ahead, yannow?

... And heh. I miss my guns, too. Looks like it's against the law here to even carry them. [Aaaand yeah, eighteen-year-old kid talking about missing her guns. She sure wasn't a soldier so either she was just from a particularly crappy neighborhood, or she just had a weird idea of what kids these days were into.]

I'm not much of a "live off the land" kind of guy, but if I have to, I'll do it. It's not like living in Alaska, but it'll do.

If I were really living off the land, I'd be able to eat the animals here. But I didn't even get rations... Usually I can find those during O.S.P., too.

You lived in Alaska?

And yeah, I think I heard something about how you can't eat the Pokemon here... [She hasn't tried, herself. As resourceful as Heather is, she's also a relatively-spoiled city gal and actually KILLING AND EATING AN ANIMAL is just a little too far up on the gross-o-meter for her.] Kinda makes me wonder what the meat you can buy here is made from, then.

It's probably all fake meat. [Takes out a used cigarette from his holder.]

Yeah, lived there a long time.

... You mean this whole time, I've just been eating tofurkey? LAME!

Probably.

I'd take rations any day.
