This is great.

[The chandelier he's sitting on swings with the motion of Oleg kicking his legs back and forth. He's been having so much fun being taller, bigger, more physically able. He can climb like never before, get into trouble with all his youthful energy.]

Hey, Captain, you're a great man. Can I stay this way, please? Pretty please?

About sixteen. Seventeen. I think I've moved up about ten years.

Huh. You liked being a teenager more?

I don't like being this big. Pets aren't supposed to be this big.

Are you a dog like Thom?

[Aggravated sigh--how many times are people going to ask this?]

No. I'm a genetically engineered feline-human hybrid. Totally different.

Right.

So what's so bad about being this big?

Pets aren't supposed to be bigger than humans, it's unaesthetic; every inch over five-eight cuts a Pet's saleability in half. Being labeled unaesthetic means you aren't good-looking enough to sell.

I don't want to be sold, but...it's kind of hard to think about anyway.

Yeah. But you aren't going back and no one here buys Pets. So who cares?

I care.

[Forgive him, Oleg, he's programmed.]

Okay. Blow up a meth shed about it.

[A small, sarcastic joke, played on himself.

His mother was also bought and sold like cattle and... well... there isn't much left of Oleg's childhood home.]

[Picks up the sarcasm but...doesn't understand it.]

All...right.

[Light chuckle.]

You're kind of weird.

[This cat guy is pretty alright.]
