I would like to state for the record, that bands like Atreyu, avenged sevenfold, and every other shitty band that wears eyeliner and bitches about how broken their hearts are, should be rounded up and killed for ever calling themselves "hardcore". Newsflash kids. You're not hardcore. Call it whatever you want, make up a new name for it, I don't fucking care. Start a new scene, a new sub-genre, and take all the hot topic kids with you. But don't say in an interview that you are a "hardcore" band, and then two sentences later diss on bands like sabbath, saying that they're not your roots. Face it, without sabbath, metal and hardcore would have never even been thought of. Whether or not you like them is something different, but at least give the credit where credit is due.
I'm not saying that i'm the most hardcore kid on the planet, far from it. I've always been a metal kid, but the hardcore thing is growing on me, and i'm starting to get into bands that i should have been checking out years ago. Bands like Turmoil, chokehold, and trial. Bands with a lot of heart, and a message. I listen to stuff like that, and it makes me want to do something. I hear an atreyu song, and i want to shoot myself in the face.
That's all, i know that it's basically pointless, but it needed to be said nonetheless.
