Unreal. You would think the problem would be that there is nothing going on, and that is why I haven't been writing. Nothing could be further from the truth. And of course that is a great excuse as well, as a busy life leaves little time for anything besides living it.
Let's see: in the time since I left off writing, I have lost my baby sister Ren to cancer, dove with the stingrays in the Caymens, spent the last year as Chair of the board of our local Habitat for Humanity, and a bazillion more busy life items were ticked off my list. I did really enjoy doing my journal when I was doing it, so maybe I should continue, yes?
A week from today will be another cruise. Maybe the last, as my husband has officially retired and we will be as close to poverty as we will ever be. (His pension is double what I make in a year, but 1/3 of what he used to make, thus the poverty claim.) I look forward to another salt water dive, this time in the Bahamas.
The doggies are well and happy, the grandbabes have grown and flourished, and my job is still good! At the end of this year I will be done for good with Habitat, and halleluia. This has been one of the most challenging yet satisfying years of my life. This next one promises to be as well, though the challeges are of a different ilk. My mother-in-law, Myrth, has alzheimers, and moved here in July. This next year is her's.
I continue to thank my son Darek for getting me involved with LJ. I think that it will be a friend to me this next year.
Oh, and did I mention we have a BAND again?? YEAH, baby!!
