Cleansing

So awhile back I learned about a colon cleanse from a company called Blessed Herbs. A good friend of mine tried it and really enjoyed the experience.

So anyway, I FINALLY got around to purchasing the cleanse and setting aside time to do it. I started last Thursday and feel great! Really. I am not just saying that. If you've ever thought about doing a cleanse or colon cleanse I would really recommend looking into this one. The website is:

There are mulitple options on there but the one I am doing is under the colon cleanse tab. Here's a brief run down:

For the first three days you reduce your food intake by 25% and also take a small dosage of the herbs they send you.

For the next 5 days you can choose from three options. The best option (and the one I am trying) is a liquid only fast with the herbs. 5 times a day I drink organic apple juice with the herbs mixed in. The drink isn't terrible. It tastes almost like gingerale but has an interesting consistency. :) Use a straw! On these five days you can have organic apple juice, water, or organic vegetable broth. The other options include eating though if you don't want to do the liquid fast.

On the last and ninth day you eat lightly. They recommend an apple, salad, brown rice, fish, etc.

Some of the herbs are designed to pull the toxins off your intestinal walls and others are designed to flush you out. I started seeing results on Day 2! Which I thought was crazy because I wasn't even in the intense liquid only stage yet. Although kinda gross, it's also really cool what comes out of you when you are putting nothing in. I figure I have spent almost 30 years drinking, partying, eating, munching, snacking, drinking, etc etc and some of it had to have collected inside. It feels good to get some of it out.

Cutting back on food intake was a total bitch. Because it's hard sometimes when you have the food sitting in front of you. But last night (my first day of liquid only) I realized I hadn't been physically hungry ALL day. Seriously. Of course mentally I wanted food. MMMMMM yummy yummy food. But I hadn't had any hunger pangs or stomach rumblings. The herbs are supposed to do this for you but I was skeptical. And now I am halfway through my second day and I can honestly say that I am not physically hungry. It is pretty cool.

I feel really good and still have a lot of energy. I've heard that people sometimes crash towards the middle of a cleanse. But yesterday I cleaned out my garage and I feel great at work today! I've had a bunch of friends try the master cleanse. And a couple have succeeded but most didn't. Many don't last more than one or two days and they say it just completely sucks.

I feel like my cleanse is going really well in comparison to the master cleanse. I'm pretty happy to feel this good and be in the middle of the cleanse. So I'm going to keep trying and see if I can do it.

Just wanted to let y'all know in case you had ever thought about cleansing.
