My darlings, I've been entirely too quiet since my return from port, but I must admit that I've been completely run off my feet. So very much to do in so little time, but I enjoyed every moment of it and the company that I kept. This morning I did not expect to receive as much as I did, if anything at all. Allow me then to thank you each individually:
Captain Kirk -- You know my tastes entirely too well. But tell me; have you ever used one before?
Henry West -- Not that it's not lovely, sparrow, but -- what is it?
The Master -- Certain to be of good use and good company on those lonelier nights.
Iago -- My treasure, you are never more surprising than when you are considerate. Thank you.
Vida -- I would expect no less from such a fine lady as yourself. My thanks and my compliments.
And finally I've been gifted by our dear Pere Noel with a
companion. I am rather fond of dogs, so this little one will be a good distraction for me. She's rather energetic, so I am half-tempted to name her after Giselle. What do you think, readers? I shall have to read on her breed -- which according to this book is Groenendael.
I look forward to seeing all of you at the gala tonight.
