FUCK ME!

When I went to the doctor on Tuesday, they tried to take blood, but I was really freaked out and my vein collapsed before the nurse could get all of the vials she needed. Soooooo, they told me to go to a different place where I can get the blood drawn and lay down and such. I finally went in yesterday. Why did I wait so long? Because I HATE needles and I hate getting blood drawn. I didn't go in till four o'clock. Not a problem, they were still open and everything went smoothly.

So what's the deal? Well, they told me that I had to take the blood samples to my doctor myself because the codes on the sheets don't work with their computers or something like that. I didn't think it would be a big deal. I could run to the doctor's office right after I left First Choice Healthcare. I got to the doctor's just before five o'clock. The door was locked and everyone had already gone home for the day. The office is supposed to be open till five on Thursdays. I came home, put the samples in the fridge and decided to take them to the office today.

I let Patrick take the car to work thia morning, figuring that the office would be open until five this evening as well. He came home for lunch, I took him back to work and then went straight to the doctor's. It closes at twelve on Fridays. "Okay," I thought, "I'll just have to call First Choice and ask them how I should store the blood over the weekend so it will still be good for the tests they need to do."

There are different colors of caps on the vials of blood for the different tests that need to be done. The man that I spoke to explained that the blood in the vial with the purple cap is only good for 24 hours after it is drawn, and that I have to go back in to have it done all over again.

Fuck.Me.

I realize that I should have paid closer attention to the office hours yesterday, but it doesn't help that they weren't there when I tried to drop the vials off BEFORE five o'clock. AND why the hell would a doctor's office close early on Fridays anyway? Damn, damn, damn. I am so upset. Even though I had a good experience getting the blood drawn yesterday, I don't want to go through it AGAIN. Ugh.
