What exactly IS Jenova?

JENOVA, as far as my information can deduce, is a collection of malignant cells left over from an alien that tried to eliminate a planet not unlike the Earth were were used to. The being itself was defeated, but remains in physical form as what amounts to a head in a box. However, the truly dangerous thing is that it seems to have a part of the "lifestream" to itself. The Lifestream is the fundemental source of life in the place JENOVA tried to destroy, and somehow it's breached into this world. People infected with cells from this being get the illness we've labeled "Geostigma" and JENOVA seems hell-bent on gathering the victims of the malady in one spot, using a collection of silver-haired human-like beings I can only assume or what happens to a human when they get too many cells from JENOVA.

As for why it gathers victims, I have not a clue.

To be frank, I couldn't care less what that thing's objectives are, it had the tenacity to harm Mew, that's reason enough for it to die.

Because this "mother" is annoying the hell out of me and harmed someone I hold to be special. Humans make their one mistakes and flaws, but when someone crosses though I care about, they die.

You of all people should know things can be falsehoods based on appearance alone. That box is giving off an aura almost on par with my own, so if it is weak now, there is something within it that was once or maybe will soon be, unbearably powerful.
