Hello Friends
Sorry I have not been updating the IB blog here, but my legal studies have kept me from being involved that much at improvboston, As a result, I have had very little to write.
Not many of you saw it, but last night was a special night at IB. TC Cheever, a man who took little marcelo under his wing when I joined IB almost 7 years ago, made a triumphant return to Culpepper. TC suffered through his own very serious medical episode at the end of last year. He is doing better, but he is on that long never ending road known as recvoery. Unlike me, however, TC chose the high road and has not written an emotionally manipulative yet hilarious one man show about it.
Sucker.
But what he did last night was premiere the brainchild of TC and Adam Brookes, An Evening with Ladley and Scott. It is a 30 minute show about two Gilbert and Sullivan- esque collaborators who tell the story of their ill fated musical about the Hindenberg. It was fantastic. The songs were good enough to comprise an actual full length musical about the Hindenberg.
Also three years ago there was a little group caled Spinprov. They fired their crappy Guamanian director (me) and went out and got a better, larger director (Bobby Smith). They went on to be fantastic and four of tehir members joined Theatresports. Well Scooter and Seth came back and they did a reunion show. High point sincluded David Totty and the dance, Megan playing with dolls, and all the Scott you could handle.
We even had a bit of a Jam last night. good times for all.

We get lots of requests, so spots aren't guranteed. We plan to schedule them this Sunday after the Jam, so e-mailing us sooner rtaher than later would be suggested. The Culpepper Jamboree involved two troupes perfomring 30-40 minute each, followed by an open inprovisational jam. We are open to all kinds of comedic acts whether they be musical, sketch, improv, or stand up.
