It's stupid.

In all honesty, it's ridiculous. How upset he gets when Jacob would rather visit Bella than spend time with him. They might as well be brothers, he can read Jake's mind, and Bella's only a human; but then again that could be what makes it worse. When he knows she's all he's thinking about.

It's harder when he's not phased, not able to burn of the anger, stuff slips out. 'Hasn't she gone back to her leech yet?' or 'You still gonna bed her when she's cold as ice?' Maybe not a way to resolve the situation, but it sure makes him feel better ( ... )

That felt like Paul. All this jealousy fits the slap scene so well. So the jealous could be canon! lol

Jacob is emotionally vulnerable after Bella leaves for Italy and Paul is an opportunist.
He can either be really obsessed with Jacob prior to or he could only be using Jacob for his body. Writer's choice!

Jacob and Paul have somehow managed a secret relationship. Jacob doesn't feel right and wants to tell Sam out of loyalty to the pack even if it means there would be some hard consequences for the pair. Paul is way against this idea and is determined to stop Jacob by Any.Means.Necessary.
