The last week or so has been weird. I'm sure most of you know what's been going on, one way or another. I think I've pretty well clued everyone in.
I'm sure that those of you who know me well would admit that I'm not necessarily someone easy to fathom, even though (I think) I'm generally likable. Maybe that whole sentiment is condescending beyond belief and I'm just such an asshole that nobody dare speak up to me about it for fear that I'll verbally castrate them. I don't know.
I met someone amazing. We got along so well that I almost refuse to believe that I wasn't being patronized. She's a hell of a lot more than people have been giving her credit for, and I found the experience resoundingly singular. I'm hoping circumstance will allow us to maintain a lasting friendship, because people like that don't grow on trees. Labs, yes, trees no. It's way too early for me to speculate on where that might lead, but I will risk the conceit that I'm peculiar enough to keep someone's attention for a while, so maybe it's got a chance of flourishing.
Oh, and she's amazingly hot... blows my mind that she finds me appealing, but shit, why fight it? I know I'm a sexy beast, but I don't usually expect people to concur. You savages have terrible taste.
Gah, I'm starting to sound like a fucking advertisement. I swear I've got other things going on right now, and I'm not just lazing about pondering my social life.
Now where the hell are my telecom books? I need to finish up this phone system deployment so I can strut my happy ass around the office like the cock of the walk. It's hours from completion, so I expect to have it done in the next day or two. It's been a hell of a lot of fun, but I'll risk estranging any Cisco fans who might be reading this by stating that I Find Cisco gear to be the most obnoxious shit in the world to work with. I mean, fuck, you don't have to invent a totally inconsistent command systax to configure your gear when there's already a billion grammatically-sound languages out there to model from. IOS sucks my goddamn nuts.
I said it, I meant it, I'm an anti-Cisco bigot. I swear that I could design a better interface with my hands tied behind my back and a bushel of angry hornets in my pants. Fuck those guys. Make up some more goddamn newspeak terminology and turn it into arbitrary 3-4 letter acronyms, why don't you? Fuckers.
I don't care about the order, so long as it's constant, but for future IOS releases, let's try this, eh?: [operator] [modifiers] [data]
Imagine how many folks would be clambering to get their money back for all that Cisco training if they actually made the damn things work, and made the documentation something less than an IFS map.
Maybe I'm just retarded. I seem to have had no problem learning anything else, ever, but this nonsense has been deeply trying.
Enough for now. Hope everyone else is having a good time out there, except for all the fuckers.
