the bleeding knees club by Caitlin Shearer.

I semi-recently acquired the print above and I'm in love with it. If you've seen the scars on my knees, you will understand my affinity for it. Both knees are scarred but my left knee actually has a blue scar. When I was a kid, I played outside in our cul-de-sac and frequently either tripped over my own feet or fell off my bike and scraped up my knees on the asphalt. My left knee got particularly scraped & scabbed up only for me to clumsily walk into various knee-high things like askew TV antennae and scrape the scabs off. The scar tissue healed oddly so you can actually see my blood through it and it looks blue. My knees = rad.

♦ Whenever I see the word "London," I always hear Nick Frost's pronunciation in Hot Fuzz when he's whining to Simon Pegg's character - "lon-don" (as opposed to my CA-accented "lun-dun"). This association makes me happy.

♦ The Fattitude Fest this weekend was a lot of fun. I got to hang out with the ever-so-sweet & awesome tengogozo & I briefly met the amazing thesugarmonster. Sorry I had to run off so soon, Heidi! I unfortunately missed Marilynn Wann's performance but I think sleeping in with igottapie was a semi-reasonable trade-off. ;)

♦ Speaking of igottapie, we had a much-needed snuggly weekend before I dropped him off at the Greyhound station on Sunday afternoon. I think I'm going up to Berkeley in three weeks and holding him again cannot come soon enough. Soon after, he'll be home for the summer.

♦ I've been watching a lot of movies lately - taking advantage of my Netflix account. I recently read a recommendation for a French horror film called À l'intérieur (or Inside) & watched it last night. It was nothing too original but the suspense was so wonderfully done & the gore was so over the top. I cried twice & yelled out numerous times while watching it, making it one of the most intense movies I've seen in awhile. I'm really hoping someone over at ax_wound will critique it because it has such fascinating themes that I don't see too often in horror.

♦ I really don't know how I feel about the Pam & Jim stuff on The Office. I think I'm too much of a cynic to be able to suspend my belief when it comes to their relationship. It just seems unrealistic and rushed. Last week's episode had some hilarious moments though. I ♥ Kevin. And Andy's tie was amazing.
