Visiting igottapie two weekends ago was good. I sadly/unfortunately/stupidly did not take any photos even though there was tons of stimulating stuff everywhere (especially when we went to Chinatown in SF) but maybe that was the problem to begin with. We missed the parade we were going to go to but saw a street fair for the New Year Festival anyway. We also had some yummy Chinese food. The night before, we wandered around a used bookstore (and I think walked past one that stray17 & I went into years ago - R, it was the coat/bird/poo bookstore, ha) & then saw Diary of the Dead. I hadn't really been following the press for it and so went in blindly. I really love Romero's earlier stuff and I think Land of the Dead has it's moments but Diary was just fucking terrible. I think it tried too hard (although I was interested in some of the themes he was trying to rally against - I just think the execution didn't work out too well) & the plot was weak & unoriginal. Meh.
I hung out with dottedcircles last weekend. We watched Harold & Maude, then went to go see Penelope. I fucking loved the clothes so much. I think story-wise, it kind of failed at what it was trying to do, which brings me to the whole moral-story aspect - it was confusing and convoluted and exaggerated. But back to Cody - we also went thrifting and out to breakfast at The Coffee Table. I'm betting that if you're in the Eagle Rock/NELA area, you've already been there but if not, please go. It's good.
I got my hair done last weekend too. I basically just trimmed it, added another layer, and then had bangs added. It's nothing extreme but it's cute. *shrug*
