I love Southern California winters.

paulflorez & I went to the San Diego Zoo on Sunday. My mom & I were supposed to go to the LA Zoo that day (which I was REALLY excited about - I love my mom) but my brother got arrested again. He apparently borrowed a car from a friend and it turned out to be stolen so he got charged with grand theft auto. He had his court date today but I don't know how it went yet - he'll probably get 6mo. - 2 years, depending on the judge. So yeah, understandably I guess, my mom was bummed out and didn't want to go afterall. And that's all I really want to say about that. So I made last minute plans with Victor and drove down to S.D. that morning. We had a really yummy breakfast with his boyfriend David (and we had a really cute awesome waitress) and then headed over to the zoo. It was a really nice mellow day. After the zoo, we went back to his place to talk for a bit. I'm not very good about talking about shit that bothers me and so I really appreciate how he knows me well enough to know how to prompt me. Whenever we have a good talk, I always feel just a little bit more ok afterwards. It's a good feeling. But yes, there are a couple more zoo photos here.

dottedcircles was in town for a few days last week. I got to see her on Friday. I picked her up and we came back here and played Scrabble and then got in bed and snuggled. It was really nice. When we woke up on Saturday morning, I made french toast (with pumpkin spice nog - it was really good) with some fruit and then we headed over to Handmade for the Holidays, a craft fair thing in Hollywood. I was able to get a few gifts and spend more time with Cody so all in all, it was pretty good. We had a late lunch and then I dropped her off. She went back up to Portland later that day & I miss her so much already (so much) but I'm glad she came down and I got to see her.

Colin (who has a livejournal! but he doesn't use it - igottapie) & I have also been having really good times. After spending Thanksgiving dinner with our respective families (mine was good - my brother was there, I got to see my family and eat some yummy food), we met up and went to go see The Mist. Stephen King is my guilty pleasure - I loved the tv adaptation of The Shining because even though the production quality was pretty bad, it stayed pretty close to the book which is one of the creepiest books I've ever read (besides maybe The Haunting of Hill House). But ok, so I usually see all of his movies (but rarely have high hopes for them) and have read almost all of his books (which are usually really damn good, albeit not literary masterpieces). The Mist was actually really fucking good - it was a classic monster story, had believable characters/motivations, a lot of creepy stuff, and was well made - until the end, at which point I felt punched in the stomach and somehow cheated out of a good movie.

Anyway, yes, Colin. Last night we made a really good dinner & Boogie Nights, which needless to say, is amazing & I'm glad I watched it again. Getting out of bed this morning was sooo hard because he was warm under my covers and the world outside of it was freezing. I managed to make it to work before 10a today, heh.

love_adhesive & I watched Unrest tonight. It was one of the Horrorfest movies last year and when we saw it in theatres, we thought it was so bad that it was pretty amazing. So naturally we had to watch it again. Still bad. Still amazing.

I really want a Christmas tree. (Deserae? Tree?)

ETA: My work blocked "social networking sites" so that means no lj, myspace, facebook, flickr, etc. during the day. And I don't always get the time to be on the internet at home. So this sucks. Anyway, my point is if you're bored and/or talkative, please IM me on AIM - eatacarvelcake (or eatacarvelcake@hotmail.com on msn messenger) & talk to me/keep me company
when I'm at work during the day. ♥
