Praying mantis!
So yesterday at work, I was out near the rootwad climber & I totally made a friend!
So I know those are really blurry but I only had my phone camera with me. Look how tiny he is though!! So cute. He totally crawled up my arm and I slightly panicked because I didn't want to accidently squish him so I walked up to a family and figured that the kids would help me out. The oldest girl said "ewww!" but looked totally fascinated & they all started talking about it. Finally the dad asked me if I wanted them to get it off of me and I said, "Yeah, if you can. Try not to kill it though!"
Anyway, I had never seen a praying mantis outside before. I wonder if it's a natural habitat or if one of our's from the museum got out & started breeding. Either way though, it was exciting.
Because, you know, I'm a nerd like that.
