I dare you to count how many times I wrote the word "today" in this entry.

I think I fell in love with Dusty Springfield today.

I feel so beautifully happy today that I almost don't know what to do with myself. Seriously. You know that full feeling you get in your chest because you are kind of ecstatic and just fucking happy? Yeah, all day. I'm so proud of myself too because I only cried once today (and if we are keeping a tally, I only cried twice yesterday!) and it was only for about 30 seconds. Then I was just happy and relieved and good the rest of the day.

I had an appointment with my advisor today just to get a form signed for some bullshit class. Anyway, it only lasted about 15 mins and it went absolutely fine (I see her regularly and know exactly where I am as far as school goes - she is really great) and as I was leaving, she actually said the words "grad-check" and I think my mouth fell off from the sudden beaming that occurred. She mentioned graduation! Oh, how beautifully nice. =] Just fucking hearing that put me in a fantastic mood.

Seriously, I've been laughing and smiling all day.

Some snooty girl in my English class tried to "test" my professor's knowledge today. It was really lame. We were talking about an upcoming paper and she actually asked him what kind of paper she should write to get an A. She asked him if she should write a thesis/antithesis/synthesis essay, a five-point, or some other one. It was pretty clear that she was just trying to show-off. He essentially said that he didn't want to limit us so he wasn't going to tell us what kind of essay to write. So out of nowhere, she mentions another professor and how she was taking the same class with this other prof. but had to drop it. She actually said that she felt our class was too slow and that she didn't feel she was learning anything because we didn't get into small discussion groups. Our class is only about 25 students and we have discussions as a class which I think is more effective anyway (especially since it's a relatively small class) because we all sort of bounce ideas off of each other. So anyway, once she said that, he actually called a "time-out" (haven't heard that in a while, heh) and made her go outside. They were talking I guess for about fifteen minutes and when they came back, everytime she raised her hand, he would either ignore her or reprimand her. It was kind of funny, in a that's what she gets for disrespecting a *good* professor in front of the whole class kind of way.

Wow, I'm actually posting in here again. Can you tell I don't have anyone to call up when dumb little things throughout my day happen? Ha.

school, happiness, life
