I've said this before, but I really admire the intricate plotting of this story, not to mention the pacing and the masterful way in which you're able to maintain that tension and suspense. I really like the way Sherlock was able to get into the mind of the killer and deduce that he's getting sloppy because he's getting old. It almost seems like poetic justice that an aging detective is able to bring this serial killer down. Of course, saying this, I think it was clever of the killer to use Stanley as a distraction.
It seems so typical of Stanley to be furious because Sherlock chooses to rescue him instead of helping the team find Margaret. It's touching that Sherlock is so concerned about Stanley. All of the dialogue is so beautiful that it's impossible to cite a favourite moment. :-)
Thank you for mentioning that you like the plotting and pace of this story. I'm always nervous about that aspect of my longer stories, especially ones with a case going on in the background, so I really appreciate you taking the time to mention it.
