I love how you have Sherlock use his hard-gained databank about the finer points of interaction. Great job.

This brought back memories on how I got four teeth (not my wisdom teeth) pulled because of my braces.

All I really remember is watching How To Train Your Dragon about seven times in a row. Maybe more.

Nicely done~

Aw, thanks! Yeah, this one was a bit hard to write only because I had an awful time with my wisdom teeth. I don't remember much of the four days following the surgery :-P I'm sure we all have dental horror stories.

Thanks for reading!

My brother gets his wisdom teeth pulled in a week or two.

I will think of this story during his experience.

I love the interaction between Sherlock and Calvin. The dialogue is wonderful and I admire the way you show the depth of Sherlock's concern for Calvin. The story of how Calvin tried to look after Sherlock and read to him when he was recovering from that injury is absolutely adorable. It's also wonderful that Calvin learns that it was Sherlock who first broached the topic of adopting a child, something that obviously comes as a surprise. This is yet another beautiful chapter in the Winter's Child 'verse.

Aw, thank you so much, dear! I'm glad you liked baby Calvin reading to Sherlock. That was just an image I couldn't get out of my head!

Thank you, as ever, for the feedback :)

Fluff, but not in the least pointless! I love the idea of baby Cal "reading" to Sherlock--and that it's Sherlock that pushes Cal to reconnect with his friend. (As if he hadn't noticed the rift, ha!)

See, Imp, that's what I said!! :) Nothing is pointless in the hands of one so masterful as you, my dear! Well done, as always.

Oh, this is lovely. I do like the understanding between Cal and Sherlock. You write family life so well.

And does this mean we get to read more about Calvin and Skye soon as well? *Bounces around excitedly in hope*

Thank you! I'm so glad you thought their interaction was written well.

And, my goodness, are you in for a treat! I'm actually several days behind in posting this piece and must send Canon many, many apologies for that, because she has a massive story arc regarding Cal and Skye but couldn't post anything until this fic went up.

Anyway, be on the lookout in the next day or so for ample amounts of Skye and Cal :)

:) The understanding and connection between Cal and Sherlock is one of the most lovely things there is, I think :) The promise of it was what drew me into this 'verse in the first place, and Imp's vision of it continue to unfold and inspire and awe me. I just love it, & glad you do too.

Just posted!)

For me I particulary like the way you and Imp have nailed normal (relatively speaking) family relationships, with all their ups, downs and imperfections; everyone doing their best, sometimes failing spectacularly but always striving.
