Amazing. Just gorgeous. The ending, with Lestrade's gift of the tape, was incredibly poignant.

Aw, why thank you! I'm glad you thought so; that means a lot.

PS - thanks for the add on ffn.net as well. I love your stories, especially the new one you just posted about Mrs. Hudson and Lestrade. Just made the connection between you and the story now :).

Aw, thank you so much! :) It means a lot that you say this, as your stories have had a powerful impact on me. (I just recced your last one on yesterday's sherlockbbc rec post, as a matter of fact! *g*) So thank you for reading my work. I truly appreciate your kind words.

This was simply gorgeous on my first reading, and it only improves as I reread it (which I've done several times now). Lestrade helping Sherlock overcome his drug habit is a part of my headcanon (and personal fanfic canon, too!), and the picture you paint of Lestrade touching Sherlock's curls in an "old gesture, and a familiar one, used countless times during the year Sherlock spent struggling through relapse, withdrawal, and relapse again" is particularly haunting and compelling for me. The idea that losing John is analogous to a terribly painful withdrawal is perfect.

Kudos to you!

Wow. I don't even know where to begin - I'm so incredibly flattered. Thank you so much! I'm so very happy to hear that you like the fics. You've definitely inspired me to explore this headcanon with Lestrade and Sherlock a little bit more ;).

I can't stress enough how much I enjoy your fics as well. "Not Dying Today" is definitely one of my favorite Lestrade stories. Gorgeous. And everyone's so in character and you can see just how much Lestrade means to Sherlock. So wonderful :)

God, this makes me want to never erase the phone messages my friends leave me. *wibble* Poor Sherlock...
