This week
Lemme tell ya about this week so far. Despite the whole final exam issue, it has had its definate highlights.
Monday morning: Shayna came to visit in CS. It's good to have her home again, even if it feels like its only for a moment.
Wednesday: Two specials on PBS featuring Renee Fleming. I swear, I watch her and hear her sing and I could just marry her. Oh gosh, that woman is just brilliant and its so weird that I'm like in love with her, considering she's like 40 but she just has this magnificent captivating presence and vocal control. So brilliant. Ah, geez. I was way excited that those specials were on.
Thursday: I was a little nervous about the AP Lit final, but relieved to find out the essay prompt was about Antigone and Oedipus. Oh yeah, and guess who got an 85 on the final exam?? Yeah... ME! Therefore, I got a B- in the class. TAKE THAT, LIFE!! I SHOWED YOU, HO! Oh man, it's rather miraculous. Plus Marlena's cookie party tonight was an absolute riot. I laughed so much; it was a lot of fun... and a LOT of sugar.
Oh yeah, and on Wednesday afternoon I spent hours at Target finding gifts for some of my favorite girls on the planet. I felt like I found some good stuff, but wasn't sure at first how they'd like them. But apparently I'm a good shopper. Because they loved the gifts, and I loved giving them. *(I got Marlena some pretty sweet Isaac Mizrahi heels and they look fantastic on her. I got Cessa a very Cessa-y shirt which looks adorable on her. I got Aelynn a cool hat which is cute but not too feminine so it suits her nicely. I got Hannah some fun earrings that I felt were very Hannah. I got Kelsey a top that happens to be one of her favorite colors of green. I got Tiernay a scarf that looks good against her red hair. I got Lori some delicious-smelling body spray, and I got Marina a fun little corderoy purse. Yeah, and I got Shayna a pretty scarf and top which I hope will fit her cuz it would look awesome.)* I After spending so many years of my life without money, not being able to buy my friends gifts at Christmas, I just decided it was time to make a sacrifice so that I could feel like I did something special for the special people in my life. Thank you all for your wonderful friendship. And thank you MARLENA for the flippin awesome sweater vest and shirt; your party was the best and so are you!
