- Vergil trusts Dante more then anybody or anything else, alive or dead. As he is now he trusts him with his life, which is no small compliment. However, he is constantly plagued by the worry that perhaps Dante will someday revert to how he used to be, that something will trigger him and he'll fall back into his old patterns of thinking. Therefore Vergil keeps a very close eye on his twin's mental state, where he is, what he's doing, and who he speaks to.
- He refuses to be like Mundus, 'safe' in his excess of power and absolute authority. Vergil does not sit on a throne and delegate all tasks to his servants. If an issue is sufficiently serious he handles it himself. He enjoys combat, and if there's nothing to slay that particular day he'll work with Dante. This tendency comes as a shock after Mundus, who very rarely handled problems requiring him to leave his immediate area,. Demons and humans who might have risked the wrath of one of the Emperor of Hell's lieutenants are now less secure, knowing that their insubordination might well draw Vergil himself. His willingness to inconvenience himself and get his hands dirty has won him considerable respect from the higher demons.
- Vergil is logical and usually reasonable. He'll allow you to talk and even disagree with him if he believes you have something worthwhile to say. He's not the type of leader that requires you to drop instantly to your knees if he walks by (although you had better show some respect if you're not on the very, very short list of people he actually cares about) and is willing to listen to the recommendations of those with more expertise in a certain area.
- Unlike Mundus, he is not physically bound. Still, most portals between hell and earth remain closed, and upon going to earth his power takes a immediate and serious reduction. He is, of course, still ridiculously powerful, but if one wanted to kill him earth would be the best place to do it. He remains aware of this fact but doesn't let it impede his movements.
- Although he thinks that perhaps he shouldn't, he allows Dante to slide down the staircase banisters.
- Vergil's room befits his rank, the primary colors in it being blue and silver. Despite the suite of rooms having everything one could want, he spends surprisingly little time in them and as often as not sleeps elsewhere, often napping in rooms that Dante's scent lingers in. Comfort isn't as important as something connected with home or safety. He feels his own rooms are beautiful and sterile.
- Although he'll steal pieces of Dante's pizza merely to annoy his twin, Vergil on the whole prefers more sophisticated food. Whether it's European or Asian doesn't really matter. He prefers things not to be spiced too strongly and generally eats slowly. His cocoa habit is still alive and well, and his favorite dessert is tiramisu.
- The only thing he truly refuses to deal with is anybody or anything trying to better their position by getting in his bed. He lets Dante handle this.
- To relax Vergil enjoys reading, both fiction and nonfiction. Surprisingly, one of his favorite things to do is read aloud to his twin. It's under no pretense of educating Dante, either---the books tend to be either children's or YA.
- There's a certain amount of damage Dante is allowed to sustain during his duties which include combat (which is most of them). Go over it and Vergil will personally annihilate you.
- Officially, Dante is Vergil's second-in-command.
