NAME: John Brown

AGE: 18
GENDER: male
YEAR IN SCHOOL: HS 3
ENROLLMENT: Scholarship

APPEARANCE: here
PERSONALITY:

A dedicated individual, John Brown can and will throw himself into anything he does. He makes sure that he does the very best job he can on any task he sets himself to do. John does take his work seriously, but does try to enjoy himself whenever possible. To him, what is the point of working hard if you don't love what you do. He does his best to have fun whenever possible, but knows how to get to work when it is time.

John is a very good natured and helpful individual. He enjoys helping people, no matter who they are. They could be someone that he does not like all that much, and if they asked for John's help, he would give it without a second thought. John tries his best to help, whether it is a small task or a large one, helping someone with their homework or helping set up a friend's project. A good friend, John will not abandon his friends when the going gets rough. No matter how hard or dangerous times get, John will stand by his friends to the very end. He very much cares for others more than he does himself, and will put their needs above his own.

He is a very gentle person. A pacifist, John does not enjoy fighting, or any sort of conflict, at all and would rather try to find a better solution to solve problems. John has no problems with fighting if that is what it comes down to, but he would prefer other options by far. He is very polite and well-mannered, and he tries hard to not offend people in any way. John is very honest, but works to ensure that his honesty is kind. However, sometimes problems do arise, mostly in part to his accidental word choices. Speaking Australian English and Kansai-ben gives him rather interesting word choices and ways to say things that others may find odd. But if he manages to offend someone, then John will do his best to apologize and make amends. On the other hand, it is hard to offend John, as he finds himself to be receptive to criticisms from others. Someone would need to honestly wish to hurt him in order for him to feel it.

Because he grew up with a large family, John finds himself naturally at ease in situations where he finds himself among a large group of people. He can talk to them and listen to what they have to say with no problem at all. No matter what kind of antics they might get into, John will be a part of them in some way, whether it is as a spectator or as the poor soul being ganged up on. Either way, there will be a smile on his face and he will enjoy every single minute of it.

COMPUTER APTITUDE:

Basic computer skills that any high school student would have. He primarily uses his computer for school work and to keep up with friends and family. John tries not to spend so much time on it, and as such, would not be much of a hacker.

WEAKNESSES (OPTIONAL):

AU HISTORY:

John Brown was born and raised in a small town in Australia. The Browns were a large and religious family, with John being a middle child. From a young age, John showed a strong interest in Catholicism and spent a lot of time at the family's church, volunteering as an altar boy and as an assistant teacher for Sunday catechism classes.

He enjoyed his volunteer work immensely, and through it, sparked another interest of his: different cultures. He would find himself being asked many questions about why certain cultures have certain beliefs, and in doing the research to answer those questions, find himself extremely interested in what he read. John found himself doing a lot of research, and in the process, found himself also researching study abroad opportunities.

The chance to study abroad finally came in second year of high school. John managed to receive enough scholarships that allowed him to study in Japan, specifically in Osaka. It was hard for him to be so far away from his family for such a long a period of time, but he knew that everything would work out in the long run. While in Japan, John continued volunteering at the Catholic church nearest to his home. After spending a year in Japan, John heard about Reims Academy, and after talking it over with his parents back in Australia, he decided to apply to finish his schooling there. He received an acceptance and several scholarships, and off he goes.

INTRANET/1ST PERSON SAMPLE

Hello everyone, my name is John Brown. Most of you may not know who I am, but I was wondering if any of you would be willing to help me. You see, I'm beginning to work on my senior project and would like to ask for volunteers. Don't worry, it'll only be a couple questions.

If it helps, my project is hopefully going to be about how a person's culture and religion affect their beliefs regarding the supernatural. This project is really important to me and I would love to hear any thoughts that you might have on the subject. Feel free to contact me here, or if you would rather, you can send an email to jbrown10@email.com.

Thanks for any help!

LOG/3RD PERSON SAMPLE

It's not often that John would receive a package from his parents. They often waited until they had saved up enough items to send to him, just so he wouldn't receive about ten packages in the span of two weeks. John appreciated the thought, but he often ran out of room to display what he received and often had to find places to store them. John takes the package into his room and sits on the bed, looking at the writing on the side of the box. In a messy scrawl, John can read his name and vaguely wonders which of his family wrote it. He thinks it is his youngest brother and he smiles, imagining his brother working to make sure that his name is legible and spelled right.

Upon opening the package, the first thing that John can see is a letter. John can recognize his mother's handwriting, and her letter confirms his suspicions that it was his youngest brother that addressed the box. He keeps on reading, learning about how his oldest brother is doing working with his father, his older sister looking for a job, his younger brother getting ready to start middle school, and his youngest brother just starting to learn how to write. It's times like these that make him wonder if it is okay for him to do this.

To spend months away from home, not being near the people that matter the most to him. It's his second year away from home, and he thought that it would get easier, but so far it hasn't. He tries hard to not let it show, and some days are better than others, but he knows he can't let it get to him. They all believe in him, and if he lets himself come home for anything longer than a visit, he'll disappoint not only himself, but them as well.

John speaks to no one, "I'll see if I can come home for a visit soon guys," and sets the letter aside so he can look through the box. There's a small metal tin at the top, and John doesn't have to pull it out to know that inside is some of his favorite sweets.

He swears that his family knows him better than he does. John opens the tin and starts eating the sweets inside, continuing to pull things out of the package.

HAVE YOU READ THE FAQ? Yes, though I assume John has plenty of experience dealing with rabid wombats being from Australia and everything.
