A glimpse into the future
[Mitsunari had spent most of his adult life in the Imperial City, so he was accustomed to the sense of magic that seemed to pervade the air. That didn't stop him from smiling at the sight of snowflakes that slowly drifted onto the high rooftops and steeples of the Capital, or fizzled inches above the enchanted pavements. Despite his own troubling premonitions, it seemed unthinkable that anything could disturb the Emperor's vision of peace.
That left the governor free to deal with other matters. As members of the official Sawa court entourage, the Yagami siblings had been afforded rooms in the sprawling palace. Although he'd released Light from his duties for the morning so he could enjoy the sights of the festival, there were issues Mitsunari needed to discuss with him... and with Hayate as well.]
