[While Delacroix spoke directly to those who carried Destiny Crystals, Rao preferred speaking to a wider audience. Good or ill-natured people, after all, should also be given a chance to turn over a new leaf.]As Pope Delacroix has proclaimed, the Church stands by the Emperor's wishes. Our Emperor has called for peace in a time when we ( Read more... )

Peace is not obtained with pep-talks.

Though I praise your effort, it is in vain, so do not waste your breath.

Of course. Action must complement words to give them strength. Thoughts that are not acted upon make little impact.

I feel that encouraging discourse is an invaluable step to containing turmoil.

But only to those who agree with your opinions.

You have to remember that some live for the battle field, peace is something they will not want to obtain.

Then do you believe that those people are irredeemable and continually set on their ways?

They live how they choose, irredeemable or not is not something another should judge.

This is true and I have no power to judge more than any other person. But consider those who are harmed by a person's choice. What of them?

Do you feel they are irredeemable? That they should be judged by others?

No. All men have the power to redeem themselves, yet no man has the power to judge one another. Even, yes, in times of atrocities, people still cannot judge one another. We are all humans, after all, born from the same origins, but matured through different circumstances.

They can still feel pain. Everybody feels pain and experiences deep losses. In those and all times, who should they be able to count on but fellow humans? That is what we are beyond citizens. Fellow humans. Fighting in defense may be necessary, but this is something I would hope people do not forget.

You have a pleasant view on people who could be nothing but horrible and wish harm on you and the world.

Redeemable as they may be.

I almost pity you for your foolishness. But if you wish to carry on with your views who am I to stop you?

Humans are born neither good nor evil. Even human nature is acquired through living. If that's the case, is it really impossible to create a world of coexistence?

This is simply the goal that I strive for, but I realize I may not live long enough to see it. Still, I respect your objective view of the world. May I ask for your name, sir?

Cardinal Rao, Sir Kaiba. But you needn't bother with titles if you prefer not to.

I don't mind Rao.
