I'd just like to let it be known how much I enjoy Halley and our apartment. For one thing, this apartment is pretty much the cutest place you'll ever see. It's really old. The building is at least a hundred years old. Our apartment itself is quite small, but quite perfect for the two of us. We have lots of windows so there is always an abundance of light, which is really very pretty. The apartment has that "old" feel to it--we've got radiator poles in all the rooms (we made our maintenance bitches take out the actual radiators), and we've decorated the poles with ribbons of flowers--they're pretty.
I will take pictures for you all sometime when it's light outside so you can get the full effect.
But anyway, Halley is my best friend. Here's one of the reasons why:
One time, at like 10:00 at night, we were going back to Radford from Roanoke and we decided we'd like to stop at McDonald's. So we stopped, and apparently that McDonald's was closed (I thought that place was always open?). So we decided to try another one. We pulled up to the drive-thru and were informed that they were going to be closed for 20 minutes (what the hell?). By that time it wasn't really even about the food anymore, just the principle, so we continued on to the next closest McDonald's (which in actuality was really not all that close). This one was at least open. We pulled up to the drive-thru and decided on fries and apple pies. We noted that they did not have a "super-size" option on the menu, so we started thinking about that movie Supersize Me, and when we pulled up to the window we asked the lady about it and she informed us that "large is the largest we get." That was pretty much one of the best moments of my life. So funny. We still laugh. Ask her--she's laughing.
Brandon and I went driving on the parkway today. It was georgeous.
