The state has been trying for years to get the 520 bridge replacement done. Most recently the process has been delayed while studies on tolls have been conducted. Now, Tim Eyman is testifying that
the state Department of Transportation has lost the power to set tolls and that this must go to the legislature, where any 1/3 minority can hold it up indefinitely.
You know, I'm not a fan of tolls but I'm even less a fan of not replacing the bridge.
Ugh. This probably spells doom for any progress on the Alaskan Way viaduct replacement, too.
*sigh*
