Few days after watching Nolan's Inception, the movie still haunts me. So I decided to actually finish Memento, his other masterpiece, that Marta gave me last year. It was brilliant, nevertheless. There is really something about Nolan's storytelling that is superb. (But I would still choose Michael Bay to direct my wedding video, if given the chance. I'm just delusional. Haha!)

The point of this entry is I have realized that there are a lot of pending things in my life I need to attend to. I have to stop procrastinating. My painting materials should resurface soon. And there are lot of books I need to finish. Right now I'm attempting to finish Kafka On The Shore. For some reason, I just started to appreciate it. Murakami's words have finally become a bit familiar to me. It's a good thing I suppose. :)

Here are few lines I like:

As individuals each of us is extremely isolated, while at the same time we are all linked by a prototypical memory.

Most things are forgotten over time. Even the war itself, the life-and-death struggle people went through, is now something from the distant past. We're so caught up in our everyday lives that events of the past, like ancient stars that have burned out, are no longer in orbit around our minds. There are just too many things we have to think about every day, too many new things we have to learn. New styles, new information, new technology, new terminology... But still, no matter how much some things we can never assign to oblivion, memories we can never rub away.  They remain with us forever, like a touchstone.

Kid's hearts are maleable, but once they gel it's hard to get them back the way they were.
