Bands that everyone likes that I HATE:
1) Exodus.
Bonded by Blood, best thrash album of all time? Fucking bite me. Bonded by Blood doesn't make me want to thrash till I die, nor bang my head against the stage, in fact it makes me want to never listen to thrash again. It's insipidly boring, turtle-paced thrash, with paper thin production that makes it sound weaker than a parapalegic grandmother. Don't get me wrong, there are some good riffs scattered around this album, however they're not the payoff you're looking for after sitting through a ton of boredom. It also doesn't hold up to multiple spins. There's no reason to listen to this when you have Kreator, Megadeth, etc. I might be being overly harsh on this album, but I just can't get why everyone blows their load all over it.
2) Vital Remains (mostly new).
In every Vital Remains song, there is a good 4-5 minute song hiding somewhere. Too bad for some reason they feel the need to draw eeeevvvveeerryyythhhiiiiiinnnng OUUUUUUT much LONGER THAN IT HAS TO GO. I love hearing the same riff repeated for 3 minutes. Oh wait, I HATE it. It got the worst on DotA and Dechristianize, the other ones aren't so bad.
3) At the Gates.
What a worthless band. I don't give a shit how many bands they "influenced", (which can be argued, Necrophobic anyone?) they sound like shit. I'm not just talking about Slaughter of the Soul either. But that album sucks. But everyone knows that. Honestly, "With Fear I Kiss the Burning Darkness" is probably the WORST album I have. It's SO.. BAD in every aspect. Terrible riffs, terrible production, TERRIBLE drums (are they even playing the same song?!), terrible vocals. Red in the Sky isn't any better. Gardens of Grief has some cool parts, I'll give that some credit. Also they deserve credit for Terminal Spirit Disease, they got it right on that album, 100%. It doesn't even sound like the same band.
I think I had another one, but I sure as fuck can't remember it now.
