I just finished Generation Kill. YOU GUYSSSSSSS. Everything caught up to me and I felt all shaky afterwards. That ending was like a punch in the face. I didn't even feel like this after Band of Brothers. This is no doubt due to the relevance of Operation: Iraqi Freedom to my middle eastern studies and to the fact that I am apart of the post-9/11 generation. This is what my generation of soldiers looks like. This is what we have to face as we move forward in the international politics arena. I am stunned to see it all spread out so raw and honest like this. Thank you, Evan Wright.

Recc 3+ fanworks of more obscure fandoms or rare pairings that need more love •
Cherry and PineappleMatt Flannery/Charlie Crews; (Life/Standoff Crossover)
This fic is just so refreshing and so in character. Because any kind of relationship between Charlie and Matt would never be typical.
•
And Won't We All Fall Like BrothersJared/Simon; Sam/Dean (Supernatural/The Spiderwick Chronicles crossover)
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. It's like it's these four boys vs. the world, because there just ain't anyone out there like them. This one actually made me wish Jared and Simon would just show up in the backseat of the Impala in the next ep.
•
And She's WrongNick Jonas/Demi Lovato (RPF)
So sweet, with just enough innocence to make it realistic.
•
Fall LineBooth/Hodgins (Bones)
I know, I know. I don't ship them either. But this gives a different perspective on Booth that I really appreciated. Not to mention it is pretty damn hot.
•
The Little PrinceJake Gyllenhaal/Shia LaBeouf (RPS)
The pacing in this is breathtaking. The characterizations are gritty. The banter is crisp and kicks you in the gut in all the right ways. Nothing is held back in this fic. This fic shaped my Shia LaBeouf canon. I remember searching for weeks for more Jake/Shia fic after I read this, but nothing came close.
