Quick Sniffs: Penitence, Thorns, The Witch's Garden

Penitence

BPAL description: A blend of pure, pious frankincense and graceful myrrh.

In the bottle: Sweet, smoky, dark incense. Slightly bitter, slightly soapy.

Thorns

BPAL description: Thorn-spiked vines, blood, and tears.

In the bottle: Orangey-amber oil. Sharp and artificial, and VERY strong on the dragon's blood. A bunch of somewhat bitter greenery - the vines? No salty notes. Maybe some vetiver? It makes me cringe to sniff it.

The Witch's Garden

BPAL description: Morning glory vines twisting around a patch of rampion, carrot, and parsley, with monkshood, hemlock, elfwort, sage, wormwood, and mandrake.

In the bottle: Pale yellow oil. Sharp, herbal, almost medicinal. Vegetal. The parsley is quite strong in particular. There's a faint foul rotting smell that vaguely reminds me of a toilet, and some mentholic greenery.
