GLASGOW - The rich scent of wild blackberry breezing over gentle rosy heather
IN THE VIAL: Fresh green and mild, fruity blackberry - almost smells like a sweet jelly, rather than a really strong, fresh fruit. Little bit of exuberant pink florals, very girly and young.
ON SKIN: The green becomes very dominant. It’s a very fresh, piny, note, though not a heavy fake-evergreen scent. I can’t really distinguish the heather as a note, as it’s more like a general dry, gently spicy, almost powdery floral sweetness. The blackberry is very much in the background, as a faintly fruity-sweet touch rounding it out. Though I really don’t like clean-evergreen scents normally, I rather like this, as it reminds me quite a bit of fresh spring air. Clean, verging on soapy-herbal. I expected that it would be a bit darker and more lush, though peeking at others’ reviews I see that many people get a powdery-soapy impression from it.
This is one of those scents that I like smelling on myself, but that I suspect other people wouldn’t like, as it threatens a certain level of old-ladyness. Hmm. Always hard to decide what to do in these cases. Too bad the blackberry isn’t stronger.
LATER: Same throughout. Faded to essentially nothing in only two or three hours, unfortunately. I think I’ll still be keeping it.
SUMMARY: Fresh, soapy, light, spring-like. Green with youthful pink floral and a touch of mellow blackberry. Low throw and wearlength.
