Danube, Voodoo reviews

Danube:

Rhododendron and bellflower petals swirl through deep, cool, dark aquatic notes.

In the vial: A light, crisp floral.

Wet on skin: Definitely a light floral. My nose quite tell which, (I know what rhodies are but I don't usually smell them) but it's almost one-note. Hmm, now some BPAL rose is coming out with something else threaded through it.

Dry on skin: Thick "rosy" floral, strong enough to tickle my nose. There's a sweet-tart note underneath it all. It does have an aquatic, blue feel to it; after it's been dry for a while, it gets a bit powdery.

After a few hours: Strong for a couple of hours, then fades abruptly. It's not an unpleasant floral, it's actually pretty nice; it's just not really for me.

Up for swap. Added to the swap list.

Voodoo:

A midnight scent, evoking images of flickering golden firelight reflecting off the sheen of glistening skin and the jerking shadows of bodies suffused with spiritual ecstasy. A deep, powerful, resonant blend of myrrh, patchouli, vetiver, lime, vanilla, pine, almond and clove.

In the vial: Something boozy and delicious, a hint of astringent (lime?)

Wet on skin: I get the myrrh and a touch of vanilla, a splash of lime, maybe underlaid with bitter almond. A heavy, heady scent, very strong - should have dabbed.

Dry on skin: I think I have a pretty aged imp but it still dried quickly. It's a lovely blend and it keeps me sniffing. Lots of lime, maybe a hint of clove, it's a sharp scent but really...tasty.

After a few hours: There is a scent my head tags as "skin musk" after a while, but that fades. Goes mostly lime in the long run with a cloying sort of undertone. It's all right, but not outstanding. I'll try it again some time, the first hour or so was very interesting.
