Well, planning on going to disney next year for graduation. :D Yay disney worrrrld!
um, also in the process of making/finishing a straw bonnet. It's coming along really REALLY well. I mean, I'm planning on selling it, but I can't help but want to keep it, even though I don't really look good in it.
I used a straw hat, formed into a bonnet shape with an iron and as of right now, I'm working on putting the trims on. I've used all white lace, which is really pretty against the straw. Most of the lace is vintage, too. I just have to put on the lace on the inside brim, tack on the ties and do a bit of a floral arangement on either side to hide a couple of metal grommets that came with the bonnet. Oh, and put bias tape along the raw edges.
My next bonnet, if this one sells, will be covered in fabric, probably in black or cream. Ostritch feathers and red/pink roses. I use only high-quality materials. :D I'm picky.
If I were to make bonnets and begin selling them, would ANYONE be interested? They would be priced based on materials and labor, which, I think would be fair. I noticed a lot of people have been wanting bonnets, and I think that I've got the hang of it, it just takes a long time to hand-stitch everything on.
I would loooove to make a couple of gothic bonnets in all black with red roses, I just need to know if it's worth it.
