My co-workers called me while I was in the middle of mail merging some congratulatory letters for the Vice Dean. I was all irritated. "What?!" I said when they called me. So I get up and go into the conference room where they are and there's this very cute little cake, a pot full of daisies and everyone in the office standing around smiling at my shocked face. They decided to celebrate my birthday early, since the Vice Dean would be out of the office tomorrow and my birthday is Saturday.
I rather stupidly didn't think to take a pic of the cake, so there are no pics, but it was HEAVENLY. :D From the bottom up: a layer of chocolate cake then a layer of raspberry filling, then a layer of yellow cake topped with a pink frosting with little bits of chocolate flaked on it. Yay! Yum! I can pretty much eat cake anytime. I loooove cake. :D
Then everyone stood around eating and someone says, "So you're what? 26?" Cue me cackling into my cake. Yeah. Try a smidgeon over a decade older... 37. w00t! Go me! LOL. The person who asked if I was 26 was honestly shocked that I was so old. Which I take as a compliment. I've never looked my age! When I was 19, I was home on leave from the Air Force and I had stopped at a gas station to get some gas. The man behind the counter made me show him my license because he didn't believe I was old enough to drive!
So I never got to sneak into clubs early, but I'm nearly 40 and I look 10 years younger. So it's all good. :)))
edit: I wanted to thank
dracschick for my virtual gift! Wow! That was totally unexpected and it made my day. :) *hugs*
