I have to work on papers in the middle of the night. I have to, because I absolutely embrace distraction. Right now, I should be writing something, but I am updating my journal, finding another thing to occupy my time that isn't my paper. If you're reading this while working on a paper, you're doing the same thing.
I rotate through distractions until I have none. And then an hour later I rotate through those distractions again. Once it hits about 3 or 4 am there are no new distractions, because nothing is updated and all my distractions remain static. So I work harder. And by 6 am I'm done because it has my complete focus.
So now I update, to get another distraction out of my system.
Harvey Danger is amazing.
