I know it's early but I've been thinking about this years Yule party. I've hosted one for the past couple of years and it's always a relaxing and fun event for me even if it's also very hard work. Last year the theme was 'Red', we invited all the guests to wear red clothes, but very few of my friends seemed to go for it. This year I've been thinking about a theme and have already come up with one. I would like EVERYONE to participate this time please! This years theme is...Yuleen! Yes, I do realize that's a made up word. You see, I'd love to have a Halloween party as well a Yule party but it's just not a feasible thing for me to do. Time, cost, distance from certain people, all these things factor in to it. So this year we are going to have a Halloween party at Yule. You are all required to dress up in the obligatory tacky Halloween fancy dress items that litter the shops. NOT LRP KIT! That's fuzzled you hasn't it:)
I think it will be a nice break from the Christmas bombardment we all endure each year. I've already seen Christmas trees up with the lights twinkling away. It gets earlier each year it seems and somehow it's lost most of it's magic for me. I used to love it, the crisp air, late night shopping, mulled wine, cosy nights on the sofa under a blanket, but now it's all so commercial and lost. I'm not going to rant about it because I don't want to waste my time typing about something I can do nothing at all about. So, yes, anyway, Yuleen! I can tell your all excited already.
And now back to other things. I'm feeling better today than I have done since loosing Mona. I've got a few things done around the house and I've only cried once so far. I am continuing to work through my September check list and I've made very good progress considering. Today the list says I should , 'Clean out the garden shed, sweep it clean and throw out anything that is unused and causing clutter. Check for leaks and fix any holes or cracks and apply a fresh coat of weather proof paint.' Well..have you seen the SIZE of the spiders in there! I'm not going in there unless I have a hazchem suit and a flame thrower. Well, maybe, I really do need to do this and I have 2 hours before I need to leave and collect Boy from school. I find I am lacking in the shed paint department but my Mum works at Homebase so I'm sure she can come up with something for me. Morier says I can't paint it blue so I will stick to a nice neutral colour that will blend in and protect the shed. For now I am going to rescue the washing. The weather here is so weird right now, blue sky one moment and dark clouds with high winds the next. Time to batten down the hatches.
