I know. Seth--my brother--is one of the people that don't like change. He...gets left behind a lot because of it. Fortunately he's got people that force him to adapt now. Survivalists would say that's the way it's meant to be though. If you don't adapt you have to get left behind.

Socially? In my experience it's harder for people who don't adapt to make friends. Everyone else has changed, accepted and adapted. Not that I ever fit in very well in Newport but I adapted enough that I did have a few friends.

The ability to adapt can certainly be useful, I'll give you that, but no one should adapt too much.

Of course not then you end up with people that are just clones of each other. I used to live in Newport and I actually know a little bit about that. It's funny you see the same thing in Chino, just in the other direction but it's possible I think to adapt and remain yourself.
