I can no longer have a cat!!!

I went to the allergist today and it's official: I'm allergic to cats. I did notice that I was sniffly when I went to visit Jason and Bonnie's and got to hang out with their cat. I thought it was the area (all that fresh air), and even though my first trip to the allergist conveyed I was mildly allergic to felines, the test I just took bumped that status up to moderate. No more cats for me... It's rather sad. Even though this is the longest I've lived without a cat around (can't believe it's been over a year since Noelle died), I did mean to get one eventually. Not so much now, I guess.

It's amazing that I go to Tabby's Place every other week and have no ill effects. Not even a sniffle. Maybe because that facility is so heavily soaped up and clean, (and no carpets), that the fur doesn't have time to lay around. Nevertheless, the doctor said he had no problem with me still going there. Good thing: I need to get a feline fix somehow.

Part of me is thinking of the money I shelled out for Noelle in those last 15 months, money I could spend on other things. But man! I loved having a cat. The affection in their own way. The purrs, the adorable faces. The playing hockey with something. Why couldn't I have been allergic to dogs; it would have given me a polite reason to not have them around. No offense to dog owners, but I'm a cat person through and through. The irony!!

But my new icon makes me happy! For some reason, Kermit was replaced with a naughty one. Very odd.
