"...and came to rest upon a beach

with a million others there. We sat and waited for the sea to stretch out so that we could disappear into the endlessness of blue; into the horror of the truth, yeah we are far less than we knew..." ~ Bright Eyes

Today we did Sydney. Bondi Beach first. Gorgeous. The waves were even more fun and the undertow less scary than Bulli Beach. I swear I could play in the waves forever. I love being all salty with wetish wavy hair and my makeup all washed off. It feels so wonderfully natural.

Afterwards, we headed to the Opera House and saw the Harbor Bridge and took a ferry through the harbor. It was pretty rad. Hard to believe that the last time I saw the Harbor Bridge there was a huge, lit up 1995 on it and fireworks flying off of it to ring in the new year. It's been fifteen years. Wow. I really enjoyed the ferry ride. There was a light rain in the middle of the ride, and yet we all stayed on the outer deck, observing the beautiful scenery and feeling so fresh and so clean, clean.

To finish of the day, we stopped at Manley Beach and played a bit of beach volleyball in blowing rain. That was interesting.

I was surprised at how pretty and European-looking Sydney is. These are things you don't notice as a kid. It's the prettiest city we've visited in Australia thus far. All hilly and full of French/Italian/Victorian looking buildings. Tan, beige and pinkish plaster. I loved it. And I'm loving this tour. The fact that our tour manager sets up all these little outings for us makes sightseeing so much easier and cheaper. I love my life.
