It was a rare thing for Cassie to leave New York City. There just wasn't a reason for her to travel around the country. But now she had a reason and she was excited to be going down to Louisiana. She had heard about Bon Temps from a few of her contacts, and had been curious to see it. And now she had the chance, plus she was going on a date ( Read more... )

Jason was excited to say the least. It'd been awhile since he actually went out with someone, that wasn't just for the sex or for V like it had Dawn and Amy. He dressed as nicely as he could, pair of nice jeans and a burgundy button up shirt. He couldn't believe she was coming from a big city down to Bon Temps just to go out on a date with him.

He walked into Merlotte's and glanced around, smiling when he saw her he walked over, kissing her cheek before he sat down across from her.

"Glad to see you made it. How was your trip Cassie?"

When Cassie saw Jason walk in, she grinned. "Hello, Jason," she said as he kissed her cheek. If she could properly blush, she probably would be at that moment. Jason was incredibly sweet.

She watched him sit down before answering his question. "My trip was very uneventful. The flight was good. Had a little trouble finding Bon Temps, though. The GPS in my rental car gave me the wrong directions but I made," she said with a grin.

"How are you? How was your day?" Cassie asked.

"We are not even a blip on the radar sometimes. I was surprised you'd heard of us here, not many have." He smiled then thinking on the question. "My day was decent. Nothing eventful really, but it wasn't boring."

She nodded. "I only knew of it because a few people have told me about it," Cassie explained. "And I'm glad you had a good day."

Cassie looked at her bottle of Tru Blood and wrinkled her nose. "Do other vampires really drink this? It taste a bit horrible," she said.

"Yeah the ones that choose not to kill, and feed from humans." Jason smiled softly, looking over at her.

"I'm glad I don't need as much as blood as other vampires do. I usually get mine from raw meat or leftover lab blood," Cassie told him. She then wrinkled her nose. "I'm sorry. This isn't proper dinner conversation."

She pushed the bottle away and looked at him. "What do you do here in Bon Temps, Jason?" she asked.

"I do odd jobs mainly. Been hanging with my sister, watching after her even if she don't need it. Since our Gran died." He smiled softly.

"I'm sorry to hear about your grandmum," Cassie softly said. "But it's nice of you to look after your sister. I was an only child but sometimes I wished I'd had a sibling or two."

She looked around and sighed. "Where did all the waitresses go?" she asked with a small laugh.

Jason looked around and smiled waving Arlene over, who studied her chatting up Jason before she finally took their orders.

Cassie waited until the red haired waitress was finished talking to Jason before ordering a mostly rare hamburger and french fries. She then gave Jason a smile.

"What do you lot do here for fun? She asked.

"Well, come here mostly. Some go to the vampire club near here." He smiled and looked at her.

"Sounds like fun. Bet it's nice to live in a small town. It seems a lot more quiet than the city," Cassie said before she took a drink of her water. "The city is so noisy at times."

"Never been to a big city." He smiled softly. "It can be fun, sometimes just gets boring."

She nodded. "You should come up to New York City sometime. I'm sure you'd like it," Cassie said.

"I might just do that Cassie." He smiled as their food was brought and he relaxed. 'I'll show you around a bit when we leave here."

"I would love to see the town. It looks rather quite. It kind of reminds me of London in the late 1800's. Quiet and small," she smiled.
