I've updated Duncan's userinfo to reflect some muses who have left TM, and some changes in his RP. Also, muses that haven't been current and left TM a long time ago were dropped from his friends list just so I don't have so much clutter now

It is human nature to make assumptions/generalizations about people. Over time, things come to light to prove those assumptions either correct or not.
However in a game situation, I dont know how you can request players to not allow their characters to make assumptions about yours-especially IN GAME. To say that and expect it to happen means you are essentially doing one little thing that in rp terms just about is a big no-no. You are trying to god-mod. I.E- change a characters reactions/thoughts/movements to make them suitable for your character, your way of playing. In roleplaying you are only responsible for your character and your character alone.
I cant see how you can ask people not to do something that very well may be IC for another players character. Other peoples characters will think how they please about yours. It's niether good nor bad, it may make for better play rather then making everyone conform to the ideal you have of your pups. It's the same OOC, not everyone likes everyone, circumstances, clash of personalities all color persceptions. Its a given.
The only time when an assumption should not be made, or allowed in game with characters, is when it is obviously using ooc knowledge to fuel the assumption. Or just clearly causing a stir.
The assumptions might set your teeth on edge, but in the long run, does it really matter what anyones views means. All you need to do is look after your own character, play them how you feel is correct and not worry about what anyone thinks of you or them.
However, you're tough out of luck if your characters do stuff that never proves nor disproves such assumptions/generalizations. You just have to get on with it, and work your character regardless.
If you push for this matter onto other players, it's just going to cause you grief.
Also tm is not a roleplaying community, you really dont have to roleplay and even though there seems no apparent 'rules' with roleplay, I always believed there were certain basic ettiquite roleplay rules everyone naturally knew about and followed. (IE: No god-moding).
Feel free to correct me, if I am not understanding you correct. That is how your post reads to me. Email if you dont wish to post publicly.

Uh, no, I don't mind posting publicly. :) And this does not have anything to do with anything in-game or RP-wise, actually. I'm sorry that you thought that was what I was talking about.

I dont see what anyones problem is with your characters anyways. The way you depict them is always consistant, and with Duncan whose canon I am familiar with, the writings/persona seems spot on. From what I read so far. If you were wildly inconsistant, choping and changing at a whim, to suit whoever you are playing with, and so on- yup I could see why assumpations/problems would occur.
What I wrote previously though still is important, because really in the end if you are happy with what you are doing and it doesnt trash other players characters canons/rp history, all should be good.
Doesnt matter, it's probably not for me to say anything about anyways. Good luck on sorting things out though, if there is anything to be sorted out that is.
