There once was a legend. She was known as the Witch of Donan Wood.
((Locked to those who know of Duncan's Immortality))
I think I've spoken of Cassandra before, but she's really an amazing woman. How was I to know that I was part of a prophecy that would span centuries when I first met her? I was only thirteen, and she was bathing nude in the woods.
That, uh, was a pretty nice thing for a kid my age to see, let me tell you.
Anyway, back to the prophecy. Apparently, only a "foundling" child born on the Winter Solstice who had seen both the light and the dark could vanquish some great evil. According to Cassandra, that child was me. I'd already seen "the dark" thanks to the Dark Quickening that Methos saved me from, and well... I'd always seen the light. Roland Kantos was the Immortal, who had been a student of Cassandra's, and apparently I was supposed to defeat him to fulfill my part of the prophecy that was around long before she was.
I guess you're trying to figure out by now how this has anything to do with holidays, kisses, or unexpected things, right? Well, Cassandra kissed me back then, in her hut, when I was thirteen. She showed up about four hundred years later and did the same damn thing.
Hey, I wasn't saying that this story had anything to do with a party, but the Winter Solstice is a holiday, there were very many unexpected (but welcome) kisses, and it was all memorable.
Hey, I "partied" after both kisses. I think that should count.
