I suspect Mayfield's intent was to convince us that, even in ten years, we won't be able to accomplish anything.

Just as suddenly as she arrived. I was hoping it would just be an anomaly from the time ten years later, but no. Kaguya's gone.

In a way, maybe this means that my will is stronger than hers, but it just feels like defeat. From now on, nothing I can do to her will bring me any closer to my revenge. She has accomplished unwittingly what she couldn't do in centuries of combat: made my quest feel truly futile.

Damn you, Kaguya. Why did you have to leave before me?
