Because the last couple of days have been darnded NOT exciting, I will try and skip past them as fast as possible. On Friday, I sat in front of the TV in the air conditioning and watched music videos, Oprah, Ellen, Judge Judy, *insert name of day time TV here*, etc. And did virtually no work. On Saturday, I sat in front of the TV in the air conditioning and watched music videos and this quite interesting documentary on Stonehenge and symbolism and crap. It actually made me wonder about Matthew Reilly books and the Six Sacred Stones. On Sunday, my parents went to pick my sister up from the airport, and I sat in front of the TV in the air conditioning and watched music videos and then when there was nothing interesting left to watch, I watched episodes of Numb3rs and started watching 'The Other Boleyn Girl'.
So my sister came back yesterday from Japan, and let's face it, the only thing I was really VERY interested in was what she bought. Yeah, yeah, whatever. Anyway. She bought the majority of her stuff at Disneyland, but she got me a cello pin, one of those squishy bun keyring things that I already had from China but this one had a cooler face expression, and let's face it, I got mine for like 4 or 5 yuan or something?, and a necklace with a thing with my name engraved on it. Which was actually pretty sweet. Though, I must ask, what is this obsession with people getting me cello things? I mean, I don't mind them, but it's just a little annoying. Though better than someone getting me a violin/viola and then saying it's a cello. Now that's very agitato annoying. Heh. Musical alliteration or whatever...
Sunday night we went to our friend's house for dinner. It's this *kind* of traditional thing we do near Christmas time. Anywho. I spent most of the night describing the IB to our friend's brother, who's a professor somewhere of something, which was fun, because A, mum kept on interjecting, and B, HUB is REALLY, REALLY ANNOYING TO TELL PEOPLE ABOUT. OH MY FREAKING GOD. And then people always ask is it hard, blah blah BLAHHHHHH and yeah. I was just about ready to bite off certain people's appendages by the end of it. So dinner was good, and then me and my sister went and watched Glee, and then I watched the first episode of season five of Criminal Minds on my computer while the adults talked about whatever they talked about. All in all, an okay night, I guess.
And then we come to today. I went to Indro with Verity and walked around for a bit, met Verity's friend Nat who does gymnastics, looked at the REALLY CUTE puppies at the petstore, got a Tim Tam 'frappacino' from Gloria Jeans and then we (I?) decided that there was nothing interesting to buy that was cheap (I had about $15) and so we went to the city. Much better. There's this tiny shop tucked right next to Coles, and they have REALLY CHEAP dresses. Now I'm a dress girl. A, because I'm lazy, and B, because they're PRETTYY. I absolutely adore dresses and skirts, and because I'm tall enough (and cool enough), I can wear maxis. Ha. The problem is, normally they're like +$30 for good looking ones, unless they're on sale. Anyway. Because I'm an Asian and broke, we went here and I got a gorgeous maxi (purple of course) for $12.95. We also met Mary there, so that was pretty awesome.
Back to the dress, (and I promise this will be short).. It's a size 6. Now, I know I really shouldn't be complaining about sizes, but it's kind of annoying that sizes aren't 'generic'... I guess they try to make them as close as possible, but it's GAH when I grab a whole stack of dresses or whatevers that are size 8 and find out I have to re-grab a whole stack of them in a lower size. ANYWAYYYY. RANDOM RANT OVER.
For the rest of the afternoon we basically window shopped our way to central and then I walked back to Borders and sat there for an hour and a half reading gossip magazines and starting Marian Keyes' new book. And then I went home.
Now I'm going to go back to attempting to write bits of my EE, finding out Bach's father's name and learning other bits of chem before me and Alex go to the SLQ and she realises that I really know nothing about acids and bases. D:
