Sad. Slightly.
So - just got back from picking my sister up at the airport.. she just came back from Scientia, in Sydney. Which kind of makes me sad, because as of a couple of days, I'm too old to go to Scientia. Like ever. (Chiara, you should know what I'm talking about. :D)
Oh - and it's so darn humid/hot/whatever up here.
Anyway. So I'm getting all these back-to-school emails. Which is all fine and good, because I like school. But there's subtle nuances that annoy me. Like 'you people should be nice to the grade 10s.. because they're new.' Never mind that their number is our grade plus the grade above ours. But we'll see.. if they're nice. Haha.
I went shopping today - that was fun. Bought all these earrings because that's what I'm currently obsessed with. Including ones that have little books on them, and you can write in them and everything. If your writing is small enough. I also bought two books - one for me, and one for Miss Alcorn, my instep teacher, who's getting married in April. The one I bought for myself is The Color Purple, by Alice Walker. The only darned place I could find it was Borders, which was actually okay because I have Borders vouchers and stuff. But it's really, really pretty, and I think it'll go on my shortlist of 'books to do for EE' (when I read it, that is.) The one I bought for Miss A is really very small, I bought it from the State Library shop, it's called 'Don'ts for Wives 1931' and I thought it was really cute, and actually kind of funny. So yes. That's for her.
